Charm AI does not require you to create an account. We collect only the information needed to provide app features: text you type or paste, photos or screenshots you select, writing-style samples you choose to submit, in-app preferences, favorites, history, language preferences, subscription status, and simple usage counters. This data is collected when you enter it in the app, choose a photo, use the Charm keyboard, make a purchase, or change app settings.
The conversation text you enter, text read from screenshots by on-device OCR, profile or bio text you provide, writing-style samples, and photos you choose are processed only for the AI analysis, reply generation, opener, profile coaching, writing-style summary, or profile photo analysis that you initiate. This content is not used for advertising, tracking, or third-party profiling.
After you allow AI data sharing, user-selected text, OCR text from screenshots, profile photos, profile or bio content, planned replies, and writing-style samples may be sent to OpenAI through AIProxy to generate the AI result you requested. The app does not send this content until you choose an AI action and grant permission. Provider keys are never requested from users.
Charm AI shares data only as needed for app functionality: OpenAI receives the AI request content through AIProxy; AIProxy routes and protects the request; RevenueCat may receive an anonymous customer or subscription identifier for premium access; Apple processes purchases and optional notification permissions. These third parties are required to provide the same or equal protection for user data as described in this privacy policy and required by App Store guidelines.
The Charm keyboard processes active text context only when you choose to generate a reply and after you allow AI data sharing. The active text context is sent to OpenAI through AIProxy for that reply request. iOS Full Access permission is required to send AI requests from within the keyboard and to read local App Group credit or premium state. The keyboard does not continuously monitor what you type in the background.
If you use the Writing Style feature, the sample messages you provide are sent to OpenAI through AIProxy once, after your permission, to generate a short style summary. The raw samples are not saved by the app. The resulting writing-style summary is stored only on your device or in Apple's App Group storage and can be deleted in the app.
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store infrastructure. Charm AI does not receive your card number or payment credentials. We may use an anonymous subscription or customer identifier through RevenueCat to manage premium access, restore purchases, and verify subscription status. This identifier and purchase history are not used for advertising or tracking.
Notifications are optional. If you allow them, Charm AI may send reminders or daily tips. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Charm AI is intended for users aged 17 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from users under the age of 17.
